Delepp:
the problem is kids now are MUCH more in tune with pop culture. So like at 13 I might have been a wreck for let’s say New Kids on the Block (however I never was into them b/c I was cooler than most kids) the kids today are watching all this crap kiddie music on nickelodeon and Disney TV when they are like 5 years old
so they get really into music and the kids that sing this crap at a much younger age than you and I ever did….
My husband and I were JUST talking about that very phenomenon the other day! We had passed a gaggle of girls talking to one another, eye rolled and made reference to it. It is odd. I made him promise me that I, in no way, sound like that. I think I believe him, though I do cringe whenever I hear my voice on a camcorder or recording.
Benson:
disclaimer I’m from Long Island originally so I think I talk like that too, but so do all my friends and the younger set is even worse
but my mom explained it best
EVERYTHING that comes out of your mouth is said as a question.
I want a cookie?
am leaving for work?
I take the F train?
teens have been lame since the dawn of time, really nothing new..
