  1. Biffy – Get a TENS unit – find online. (I can give you input if you want – have referred about a dozen friends & they all love it.)
The Teabags are great – they’ll divide the conservative vote & cause a schism in the GOP. And the few of them whom I know are racists – either avowedly so or unconsciously.

  2. I personally think Family Guy went too far. Pick on Sarah Palin all you want, but leave the baby with Down Syndrome out of it.

I see no reason why Sarah Palin can’t be a spokesman for Down Syndrome.

I think it was far too PC to go after Rahm for using the word “retard” (and then typical cowering Democrat Rahm had to convene a meeting to apologize for it) and then hypocritical to give Rush a pass.

And I tend to agree with Dave that the core of the Tea Party Movement are people for lower taxes, lower spending, a lower deficit and fiscal responsibility. They’re more like Libertarians than Republicans, and they take issue with both parties’ free-spending ways. Unfortunately, the “birthers” and other anti-Obama extremists have become identified with the movement.

  3. Palin has every right as the mother of a Down’s child to speak out. But we all have a right to call her on it when it looks like she is applying a double standard — one for Rush and one for Hollywood, a perennial conservative punching bag. It raises a valid question of how much this is genuine outrage and how much is political calculation. None of which redeems the Family Guy episode, of course.

  4. dibs- Palin can say what she wants- except when she so blatantly uses it for her own political gain. Cynical use of the issue. You don’t remember her dragging him to late night conventions? He was a couple of months old, fer crissakes! And her defense of Rush, while attacking Rahm? How creidble a spokesperson is she? In my mind, not very.

benson- those are the facts re the tea party. The NYT is not the only paper that has reported that Let’s not blame the Times for who makes up the majority of the teabaggers. (and nice to know some Republicans can take personal responsibility. I didn’t see much of that with the last administration. I note most of you guys have very short memories).
