  1. m4l, I saw that unit online (and a 3rd unit also for sale there), but there’s no outdoor space (I need at least a balcony – CDog just has this need to be outside, even if she’s just lying on the other side of the door), and I can’t figure out why this apartment is asking $90,000 more than the duplex with a patio AND a balcony.

  2. im actually not a fan of primary colors, tho they do look fine on these houses, but if they were neon or pastel it would make the neighborhood a little more classy looking. primary colors are too romper room-ish

do hookers live in those houses too?

    *rob*

  3. LOL, lesbiman.

Exactly, 11217. When I was there, I’d been told by an Argentine friend that you had to see La Boca – if only for the architecture – but to take a cab there and back and avoid all the tourist traps.

  4. That’s exactly right, CGAR….all the houses are painted these incredible (mostly) primary colors.

The neighborhood is a bit down on its luck and a little off the beaten path, but definitely a must stop for anyone visiting BA for the first time.

  5. m4l, I’ll either adopt you or rent you my upper duplex.

11217, I want to see that duplex at the Ansonia, but they didn’t have an Open House this weekend, and the listing isn’t on StreetEasy yet. I sent it to my broker to see what the story is.

*rob*, La Boca is the Buenos Aires equivalent of a favela. La Boca is close to the docks, and as I recall (and I bet 11217 knows more since he travels to BA) the houses were painted all these bright colors because they used whatever color paints were leftover on the ships that were in port.
