  1. Ok, I am a cereal person, I grew up eating good cereal (healthful) and bad cereal.

    Good cereal – Oatmeal, Wheatina, Cream of Wheat, Wheaties, Cheerios and then the bad cereal, Captain Crunch (collapses into sugar globs into your fillings pulling them out), fruit loops, kix, cocopuffs, frosted flakes.

    Now I eat Oldfashioned oatmeal with walnuts (good) and
    this stuff I buy at Fairway — Heritage whole grain flakes.
    It never gets soggy. It just floats in milk like roofing shingles and is super crunchy (tastes good, not kidding).

    ROB, YOU SCARE ME. You are communicating with squirrels??
    I used to think squirrels were cool until one got into my apartment, ate everything including my shutters, and opened candy bars and then tracked chocolate pawprints on my white couches. Cost me 2 GRAND!!! From now on, I truly believe that squirrels are satanic messengers. Be careful!!!

  2. BTW, the best pesto is made w/ the little teeny basil leaves. I used to be able to con guests into stripping the leaves – it’s a real pain to do. Now those people ask for a different dish.

  3. Just reading over todays posts. Wow, a lot of talk about food! Now I’m hungry. I guess I’ve finally digested my steak from Sparks last night.

    Anyone remember Maypo cereal? That was my fav. of course with tons of sugar that I added. At least back the it was cane sugar.
    Now I eat Fage yogurt 0% with unprocessed cocoa nibs, dried fruit, and an ounce of almonds or walnuts. Its a great + healthy breakfast.
