blowfish, Clinton Hill past grand ave is fringe – ie it’s not much diff than other hoods that people label as fringe. Not that that’s bad but the prices are too high for that fringe area. So beyond the C and G train complaints, I tack on a price complaint.
seriously, fort greene is like 4 avenues wide, clinton hill is like 4 avenues wide. people act like they’re different cities. we’re new yorkers, whats the big deal walking 10 blocks everytime you gotta go somewhere? right? crap
blowfish, the C is really no different from the A beginning arund Lafayette or even 1-2 stops further. From there on into Mnahattan, there really aren’t any stops that the C makes that the A does not.
During rush hour the C is almost as frequent as the A. Not sure it’s a valid complaint. And, during nights and weekends when the C is not running it’s all the same on the A.
I don’t think her (or your) commute is significantly different becasue you’re 1 or 2 stops apart from an A Express.
this morning on the train i overhear a woman talking to her friend, saying that her and her husband have started looking for a house. She wants to stay in Ft Greene, but homes are too pricey. Her friend suggests Clinton Hill. She makes a face and says she doesn’t want to be stuck with just the C. She said she looked at a place on Washington, but rejected it, because not only was it a C train stop, but it was a far walk from the C…Oh gawd i am so screwed with my house, I’m gonna live there 4ever.

A far walk from a stop is another issue.
“she doesn’t want to be stuck with just the C”
They do have operations to change that.

Gem, one has said:
You’re lost little girl
You’re lost tell me who are you?
I think that you know what to do
Impossible? Yes, but it’s true
