Hi everyone,
Montrose,
Thank you for sharing those beautiful sentiments about your father with us. I do believe that our loved ones continue to live with us not only physically through our own person and in relatives, like your nephew, but spiritually as well since each individual, in their lifetime touches so many other lives in ways small and large.
Perhaps if people read the transcript or watched the video of the Obama Q & A instead of only getting their info from Fox News,they might have a more accurate perspective about the budget and why it is where it is. teabaggers are flakes.
MM, elliman listing (#7), the attic was something else and the LR and BRs were such big spacious rooms. The countertops in kitchen were hollow though. Despite looking east the rooms were quite bright in the afternoon. And being on third floor in such a bldg made it seem like the 4th floor.
Corcoran listing is underwhelming, I assume some details were lost to the central AC.
President Obama is proposing a budget that will increase the budget deficit to 10% of GDP. Before the chorus of “It’s Bush’s fault” starts, please consider the following facts, published in today’s WSJ;
-the highest budget deficit during the GW Bush years (with two full-scale wars going on) was a little over 3%, considered managable by central bank standards. For example, the European Central Bank requires that all member Euro countries maintain a budget deficit of less than 3%. In other words, in a little over a year, he has tripled our budget deficit.
-if one looks over the past 20 years, the highest deficit was 4% of GDP, during the Bush 1 years.
-Looking even further back, this is the highest budget deficit since WWII. In the post WWII era, the highest budget deficit was around 6%, during the last severe recession of the early 80’s.
I think that you are going to be seeing alot more teabags around.
DeLepp, I just looked at the listings, the apt I saw is the Douglass Elliman apt. The Corcoran listing is a bit disappointing. I was expecting more original detail, although the floors and windows are beautiful. It’s a very nice apartment, but I thought it would look very different. The bathrooms and kitchen aren’t my taste, and I would have loved to see the original fireplace. I do like the nooks and crannies and odd shaped rooms.

Benson, that’s why I’ll vote Republican – not because I side with them but want more republican so these big spending bills can stall
