Clef is a great guy who really is super distraught right now – he’s all over facebook and twitter trying to spread info.
Pras (of the Fugees) is thinking of doing a Fugee reunion for relief efforts – so if they can get Lauryn Hill – that could be an epic charity concert to go to!
Dave, my mother’s death hit me the hardest of the 10 relatives I listed. My brother, sister and I, and our extended family, were all very close to her. There was no clue that she had cancer until she felt a pain in her side one day, and by that point, it was already Stage 4 terminal. There was nothing that could be done, no possible treatment or procedure, and she was gone in 3 months.
Yet my mother accepted it with the class, grace and strength with which she had always lived her life, more worried about those she was leaving behind than herselff. So we spent 8 weeks essentially sitting shiva. Friends and relatives traveled from all over the country to see her one last time and to say their goodbyes. And to eat. We’re Jews, so God knows we ate, and my mother did much of the cooking herself. Given the circumstances, it was a nice way for her to go, and at the end, she died at home, in her own bed, very peacefully.
