“My cousin’s kid — super techie — told me that it really isn’t the ATT network that is the problem with Iphones, it is the Iphone itself (his technical explanation “it fights with itself”.) But they are also huge hogs of network capacity.”
According to BH, this is all true, and this is why he has the iTouch — which does everything that the iPhone does except it’s not a phone — and a regular cell phone.
” But $100 per year for admin costs sounds like the guy is just trying to transfer some of his overhead to his patients, which I don’t think the health insurance company will cover. ”
Agreed, and in Brooklyn Heights…he probably has the clientele/patients who will pay it. In fact, I know people that go to him, so they must be paying it so far…
Re Iphone, Biff, they are great for everything but for making phone calls.
My boyfriend has one. He told me that he had an app to take credit cards but we can’t seem to have continuous phone calls. He walks around with his head down looking at GPS (taking coastal navigation but cheats by looking at his Iphone), news of every imaginable type, newspapers, etc. Then he dropped it on the sailboat and the salt water killed it and all his songs and pictures and phone numbers and everything. Then he had to go to the Apple store to get a new one and they didn’t replace the SIM card (or used a bad SIM card) and I had to fiddle around with it poking it with an earring and I made it work until some genius there at the Apple store found the problem(not him). He has configured news sources so he is up to date on every world disaster. The only thing he CANNOT do is have a conversation with me that doesn’t fade out or get dropped. Needless to say I HATE the iphone.

I have heard of charges placed on your credit card if you miss an appointment and don’t cancel within 24 hrs, some up to $50 which is reasonable. But $100 per year for admin costs sounds like the guy is just trying to transfer some of his overhead to his patients, which I don’t think the health insurance company will cover. But I can be wrong.
Personally, I had my share of quacks (takes one to know one), but I never heard of $100 annual admin fee.
I’ve heard that Dr. Berk is a young-ish doctor, very organized, has all records online, easy to reach via email, actually recommends emailing him for quicker replies.
He sounds interesting. I have been considering switching to him but with the fees, I may reconsider.

DIBS…HAH!
Nah no grandpa’s for me thank you.
Yeah this whole Doctor thing just sounds fishy. I never had any of those charges either. All I ever paid was my co-pay.
