Donatella, no probs. As I said, hopefully those discussing it yesterday will benefit from your input. There was a ton of talk about it yesterday in the OT if you are interested.
I have the Blackberry with ATT and the service is pretty bad. I lose service for some period of time almost daily.
Ooohh, I didn’t know that, Biff, but I guess people feel pretty strongly about iphones. I think that if you like to use it for phone calls, you should get a Fred Flintstone phone or if you want a smart phone, a Verizon Blackberry.
This is just the tip of the iceberg.
The young doctor is probably converting to a type of
“boutique” practice which is understandable with the
ever increasing costs of healthcare (which will NOT be addressed by the piece-o-crap bill the congress wants to pass with the large of majority of americans against it).
more and more doctors will limit their patient number.
more and more doctors will charge fee for service.
more and more doctors will retire early or seek work in a related field outside of patient care.
the boutique practice model charges a set group of patients an “entry fee” for remaining a patient of that doctor’s.
It is legal, except for medicare and medicaid I believe since doctor’s who are participating in Medicare agree not to charge additional fees.
More doctors will become non-participating in Medicare which means they can charge what they want and fill out the paperwork for your insurance so you can fight it out.
More and more doctors will be doing this sort of thing. get used to it.
Increase your FSA contribution if you have yo but it’s probably too late for that.
You should give him a piece of your mind for not having alerted you to this before selections for FSA spending accounts were due, which is usually Dev 31.
They do this sort of thing after the first of the year to make it more difficu;t for peole to switch physicians with their plans.
Thanks Donatella. There was quite a bit of discussion about this yesterday too, which is why I was kinda kidding when I asked about it today (next time I’ll use the smiley emoticon). However, I think you and G10 have given some really helpful advice for those here thinking of buying one. After hearing what you and G10 said, I don’t think I would get an iPhone – oddly enough, I like my phone to be able to actually make and receive calls.

Legion is correct about each and every one of his points.

As for the Drs fee my friend is now paying for a “vip” service. I think it costs like $500/year. She has many health issues.
Gem, I posted in answer to you in your forum thread.
“DH – temper trap – have you heard their stuff? I think their song is on a Rhapsody commercial – but I dig them”
nope – will check em out – thanks!
