Yes, you can call 911 from your mobile…but when you are in the midst of a full blown severe asthma attack and can barely breathe, let alone speak to tell them where you are, having a landline that they can immediately trace comes in quite handy. Almost died that night. Seriously.

I have a landline for Internet access, but no phones plugged into it.
FWIW, I love my BlackBerry phone and my iPod Touch. I’m just as happy to use the iPod only for music, videos and apps, and I keep hearing that the phone sucks, but maybe that’s just AT&T service. Dunno.
