Jester- how do you know the best decisions in your life were the best decisions? How do you know the road not taken wouldn’t have yielded something beyond your wildest dreams? i would say approx 15% of my everyday is thinking about that. its my worst feature.
Thanks for all the advice. Wasn’t going to discuss the location on here, but guess I asked for it & it’s out there.
Hard to explain but it’s the fact that it’s yet another country again rather than just another city that I am having trouble with. The idea of living there is OK, and I really like the potential colleagues.
And yes, I know it’s a great blessing / good fortune to be in this situation in the first place.
Snaps- sorry you’re sick again. Let us know what the doctor says. BTW- I am making Mr. Destructo a little purple spandex suit with a Mr. Destructo logo on the chest and a gold cape. MM is afraid to talk to you anymore. 🙂
Etson- Noooooooo! Who is going to do Fred and Ginger with me?
But seriously- sometimes change is good. If you feel you’re stuck, make the change. It’s not like this has to be the rest of your life- but if it’s a better opportunity, you should do it. You’ll always have the PLUSAs (like you can get rid of us- NOT!) and you can always come back.
Etson, unless your current job is something you don’t think you’ll ever find something similar elsewhere, you’re basically deciding NYC vs. new gig at new city – ie your current employment factors very little into decision.

Spend all day in the knowledge you will do option A.
Then tomorrow, spend all day in the knowledge you will do option B.
