  1. Results from a 1/09 survey of earth scientists show that overall, 90% of participants answered “risen” to question 1 and 82% answered yes to question 2. In general, as the level of active research and specialization in climate science increases, so does agreement with the two primary questions (Figure 1). In the survey, the most specialized and knowledgeable respondents (with regard to climate change) are those who listed climate science as their area of expertise and who also have published more than 50% of their recent peer-reviewed papers on the subject of climate change (79 individuals in total). Of these specialists, 96.2% (76 of 79) answered “risen” to question 1 and 97.4% (75 of 77) answered yes to question 2.

For reference, the two questions they asked:

    1. When compared with pre-1800s levels, do you think that mean global temperatures have generally risen, fallen, or remained relatively constant?
    2. Do you think human activity is a significant contributing factor in changing mean global temperatures?

To quote Stevieb, though I probably shouldn’t, suck on that Legion. (did I just say that?)

  2. What you say may or may not be true, bxgrl, but it makes sense to assess whether whatever ‘we’ do is going to make any difference in the first place.

“Aliens will come and kills us all to save the earth!”
Actually we’re here already, Kens. I am just waiting to shed my earthly disguise…

  3. quote:
Schools are always a matter of debate. I know people who pulled their kids out of 321, 39, and 107 and others who love them. I don’t know if I would say there’s a “rush” of PS brownstones closing – there are some that have closed, and others that have not. Right now, there’s low inventory. There’s also a very big difference between the grand park block big fancy houses and lots of other houses in less grand parts of the slope. There are definitely some places that aren’t selling. It’s really property by property. Hard to say how bonuses will affect things – isn’t a lot of the money restricted for a longish period? Plus, employment is still dicey and job security not great. OK, back to work. Hope NYT starts to function again but anyone with inside connections who can nudge them, that would be great!

Miss Muffet, dont let the 321 people make you believe their kids are special, gifted, and better than everyone else. believe me, they are just as retarded as the rest of nyc public school kids.

yeah i said retarded. bite me

    *rob*

  4. >>stevie, I think people are inclined to like your Dr. Jekyll personality. Mr. Hyde, not so much. Why don’t you send Mr. Hyde home, and bring back Dr. Jekyll whom we hung with over Thanksgiving. Just sayin’.

Sigh, Thursdays are reserved for evil stevie 🙁 Let me try to coax nice stevie out.

  5. “>Or you could just shut the hell up. That would be OK too.

No, I shall not just because you said so?? ROTFL!”

stevie- you forgot to say, “I’m rubber and you’re glue, etc…”

Is it just attention you’re seeking negative or otherwise? I fail to see how you don’t pause before you post and think that maybe what you’re putting out there might come off as annoying.

  6. blowfish- I was married to a goy. Most of my friends are goyim- in fact until I became acquainted with the chosen folk here on b’stoner I knew far fewer Jews than Christians (I’ve probably spent more time in churches going to weddings and funerals too). So whatever you are is fine with me (unless you’re a Republican. Then I have issues). 🙂
