Expert, you have to be careful because a lot of the duvet covers at C21 say ‘queen’ but they are actually ‘full/queen’. If you buy both the comforter and the duvet there you would be fine, but buying the comforter elsewhere is likely what got you into trouble on this one. If the packaging says ‘queen’ ignore that and open it and look at the tag on the duvet itself. Check the ‘finished size’ measurements and compare that to your comforter.
You can get away with buying a ‘full/queen’ comforter and and a ‘queen’ duvet, but not the other way around. That’s usually when you find the duvet to be too short.
Well yes and no, Expert. Comforters and duvet covers come in LOTS of different sizes. We just got a new one, and bought the cover from the same company, so they fit together just right. But my last duvet was bigger than the comforter by a several inches so I had to pin it with safety pins to hold the comforter in place — cause I could only tie it to the thing-y’s on one end — or it would sort of float around inside the cover, which is a pain in the butt when you’re making the bed.
ExTex, your duvet cover should not be 12″ shorter than the actual comforter. What size is the comforter supposed to be? A Full/Queen should be 86×86. A king should be 100×90.
Finally! Thanks Snappy for acknowledging.
Comforter is Queen. Duvet cover is Queen.
I bought the Duvet cover at Century 21, where else!!
Yes, it’s 100% cotton. It couldn’t have shrunk that much in the wash.

Thanks Bxgrl. It’s baffling.
I’m using it, but it makes the bed look all lumpy.
