ha – I do find kids nowadays to be polite trick or treaters – however I think b/c they are accompanied by parents.
well – the whole pricing thing makes me angry b/c it’s robbing an experience from most of the city where in the old days of baseball, tickets were like $5-10 and even cheaper for day games. they don’t even play double-headers anymore right?
Is meshuggnah “crazy” b/c that’s what my mom called me often as a kid….. “you are such a meshugganah!”
“The concession prices are beyond outrageous. Bottle of water=$5. Soda=$5. Beer=$9. I even saw someone buy a bucket of popcorn for $12. How does a parent take two kids to a game without going into debt?”
biff, even during the game at the Stadium, you could see several high-priced seats empty. Cuz like G10 says it’s all corporate.
I got some insight into why the other day (empty seats) from an MD at a big investment bank. They used to rent a whole box, I don’t know, 20 seats or something? They gave it all up, even tho, obviously, they can afford the new pricing structure.
Under the old pricing, it was maybe $250 a seat (?) So, if an investment banker invited a trader from another firm, it was considered a regular expense that wouldn’t influence anything. Just socializing.
The bank now takes the position that with seats in the $2000 range it’s a regulatory issue and that inviting a trader out for a ball game could be seen as a bribe, not just T&E.
The ne staff is so nice too, CGar! is gladys the very pretty blond? She’s new? I’m just happy to see John and there is a Hispanic young man there who was with Dr. Maddox also- don’t know his name but he looks to be maybe 20. He’s such a sweetheart. He fell in love with Bugboy- he remembered when i brought them in with those horrible horrible eye infections. They were all so shocked at how bad it was, i don’t think they’d ever seen something like this.
So how is CGar dog doing? Better over the weekend? Is it the cold weather? I need to be sure we put radiant heated flooring in her special room.
Hi THL, we sat on the stoop with friends [inc. CGar] and neighbors and gave out candy to the throngs of children. It was amazing how polite 99.9% of the kids were, they took one piece of candy from the bowl, and said thank you! Except for one little girl…who went for it with TWO HANDS!! LOL!! Great costumes — so much fun!

Two hands! GAWD! I hope her parents gave her a little talking to about proper Halloween Manners.
A hot dog and a beer in the new stadium runs like $22 I think…..
