  1. Chicken – And it’s o.k. to have both Nat’l Health & something like BUPA so you can get the best of both worlds – pay privately if you want to. Options such as that are important.

  2. 600? Me? really??? Oh- I just want to thank all the little people who made this award possible (you know who you are). As you know, an award such as this is the result of teamwork- thank, thank you all. Wait- did I mention everyone…. whoops! *yanked off stage by cobblesnaps*

  3. Question re healthcare, primarily for Benson but for anyone else that holds his view of restriction of freedom from mandated individual purchase of healthcare.

If this were an addition on income tax, would you feel any differently about it?

The UK has something called “National Insurance” that employees and employers have to pay into as a percentage of salary (and deducted at source but that’s a discussion for another day). This covers the cost of providing the National Health Service and also state pensions.
Individuals can purchase their own private medical insurance (or it’s offered as an additional perk for employees) which allows you to jump the queues for procedures that have waiting lists.

  4. “you’re making a generalization that I am not generous and not appreciative of what I have.”

not trying to escalate – but lots of people have the “i’m right and you’re wrong” rather than “we have different ways of looking at things and that’s okay” attitude.
