  1. I’d agree w/ the second half of your 3:22 post, Benson. But when I’m not in NYC (or someplace like Philadelphia) I just resign myself to the fact that I’m not going to get any good Italian food in that city. Still not going to Olive Garden. I just can’t wrap my head around the concept of mass-produced Italian cuisine.

  2. did you use valet parking at Marco Polo? – wasn’t the owner caught up in some sort or scandal last year or something.
    I am going to my 3rd meeting today (all which I hate) – and
    only reconfirms my suspicion that management is so bogus and all they do is throw around buzzwords and really have no conception of what they are doing. (I work in IT). Promoted because they can make good smalltalk.

  3. I actually really like that soup, salad, breadstick deal they have. It’s good.

    That commercial has always just cracked me up though. Seriously Olive Garden, you’re a chain restaurant. No-one is bringing cousin Luigi from the old country in for authentic dining. Don’t even try to play like that!

  4. THL;

    Here’s my rule:

    -when I’m in NYC and some parts of Jersey, I wouldn’t get caught dead in places like Olive Garden. Of course, I stick to good local places.

    -outside of these areas, especially in places like Dallas or Georgia, I stick to Olive Garden. May not be my mom’s cooking, but it’s better than alot of “Eye-talian” that the local places there try to serve you.

  5. you see how life screws you over. most of the people who were dumb in high school seem the most successful now and the nerds back then are now all dead and/or screw ups!

    That has been my experience as well.

  6. Benson, don’t know if you check the forum or not but I posted what’s below:
    Actually when my parents bought their 1930’s Tudor during the early 70’s and were ripping out the original porcelain tub (big mistake!)they found a glass milk bottle w/ a 1930’s Italian newspaper inside.
