Thanks for the votes of confidence in being able to get the dish installed without damaging the roof DIBS & CGar.
I just got Comcast to renew my new customer Triple Play rates for the 3rd time so I’ll wait until they expire again.
For anyone who has tried calling their cable co. to get them to give you lower rates it’s worth the phone call. I happened to have seen a segment on the Today Show where they said most cable co.’s were open to renegotiating fees due to the economy. SO one day for shiggles I called and claimed financial hardship. First they offered to reduce my services (getting rid of premium channels) and I said is there any way you could grandfather me into the new customer package rates? She did it right on the spot no questions asked.
Ok, everyone chill out a bit. Not saying Dinkins was a great mayor, but before you hold him responsible for crime, look at the linked chart. Murder rate kept going up rapidly throughout the 80s, peaked in ’90 (DD’s first year in office) and then immediately began declining precipitously, beginning with the final three years of DD’s term. Rate of decline looks about the same under DD as under RG and MB. Note that the line on the chart does not change direction much during the RG and MB years, but follows the downward path at more or less the same angle as the final 3 years of DD. Some of that is policing and some is social factors, local and national. But DD did not create the crime wave he inherited, and he did respond to it.
I dont think we really should be “rating” racial incidents but if you are going to – 7 people were killed in the Freddy’s Fashion Mart incident – SEVEN
i perambulated around the slope this weekend and realized something new that annoys me that i never noticed much before until now.. the invasion of annoying PARENTS who dont live in the area. i think they might be worse than resident minor children! they are so obvious… walking around with their heterosexual couple adult crotchfruit giving everyone and anything the stinkeye they don’t think are proper. my pitbull growled at a spefic woman and man who gave both of us the nasty face yesterday. i totally gave her the wtf u looking at b-tch? face.
“instead of TRANSFERRING my account when I moved, they closed my old account and opened a new, unrelated one, which resulted in losing the e-mail address I’d been using”
NSR, like Snappy, I abandoned TW for DirecTV years ago. Still, Verizon did the same thing to me when I moved. I lost all of the email addresses that I’d been using for years. And they neglected to credit a payment to my “old” account (when I didn’t know I had “old” and “new” accounts), so the “old” account ended up being delinquent, which Verizon then turned over to a collection agency, and I recently found out (when applying for mortgage pre-approval) was reported to all the credit bureaus! So my credit scores are through the roof, but for a $90 Verizon bill that was “subject to collection”. Hail bureaucracy!

I’m saving $48 more or less a month.
Give it a shot.

rob – you think the Korean Grocery boycott started over organic vegetables – I would say that YOU are the definition of the annoying newcomer –
we get it – you have opinions – but unlike your parents, not everyone cares to hear all of yours!
LOL THL 🙂 I am definitely with that!
THL, I had 2 DirecTV dishes installed after I had a new roof installed, and there was no problem whatsoever.
