  1. Being a long term customer definitely helps. I’ve been with ATT/Cingular for years. A few months back when my phone (which was long since out of warranty coverage) began acting a fool, I called and threatened to cancel. They damn near broke their necks to send me a brand new cell phone of my choice (Got a sweet LG Vu w/ Tv!) for free and canceled my bill for two months.

  2. i just got this e-mail from a coworker :-/

If you missed the last KFC freebie, the Colonel (or his deputy) has a deal for you. Today, Monday, Oct. 26, more than 5,000 KFCrestaurants nationwide will give each customer one free piece of grilled chicken.

  3. DTV offers internet, but it is ridiculously expensive…like 100 bones a month for the internet alone. CRAZY!! I use DTV for tv and TWC for a basic 29.95/mo internet package.

  4. THL, if you’ve been with a service company for a while, it’s always worth calling them up and threatening to leave them. They all have large customer-retention departments and anyone talking about leaving gets escalated up to them straight away – these are the people that have the power to say yes.

This is the way that I got my telephone (including international calls), Internet and TV package for $35 a month and my mobile plan (200 minutes and 200 texts) for $7 a month.

  5. I’m saving $48 more or less a month.

    Give it a shot.

I sooo tried. Didn’t work for me. Cablevision told me to pay up or go screw myself. I tried with 4 different reps and a supervisor and said I would cancel and they told me to go right ahead. Freakin rip-offs. I know if I cancel for like 2 months, they would call me back (as they did with few of my friends) and offer me the triple package again but I can’t switch to Direct TV or Dish since my building doesn’t allow or has Dish connection and doesn’t want antennas on the roof and FIOS doesn’t service the building yet so either I have Cablevision or go back to dial up. SUCKS!!!! I am debating of just keeping internet and cancelling cable all together. Maybe I’ll read more and actually learn how to write well.

  6. Dishes on balconies look soooooo white trash. My tenants got a dish and I told them to make sure it couldn’t be seen from the street and that it had to be installed on the vertical part of the peripet wall.

  7. THL is correct about the cable reductions! but but but but be careful, they will ask you if you are going to be at your residence for another 2 years. i guess if you are, it’s not a big deal, but if you have no clue, it might not make sense?
