  1. CG ups- AVG free is also good. I used to use it and then bought their software. A friend still uses the freeware and swears by it. And as a graphic designer I can attest to the fact that you can accomplish the same thing on a pc as on a mac. I have illustrator and photoshop (although I prefer other programs), and with all the programs written for pc, it’s really not an issue.

  2. “if there’s any freegans on this board, the trash can on the corner of the block after union street and 4th avenue always has gigantic bags of assorted bagels and muffins hanging out of it!”

Hahah – bagels outta the garbage – reminds me of college!! those were the days!

  3. “it’s become slang for anyone with more money. fact of life, everyone on this board has some money. ”

cgups, you seem confused. There are people with some money who have made it themselves. There are people with some money who have inherited it. And no doubt many are a mix of the two.

People with no money like rob, or people who have made it all themselves, tend to be more critical of inherited money.

Ironically, it is conservatives who are always claiming AMerica is a meritocracy. Yet they’re the ones always whining about ‘death taxes’.

  4. quote:
fact of life, everyone on this board has some money. i doubt there are any indigents reading and posting to brownstoner on a daily basis.

girl please, im about as indigent as they come!

I actually prefer gym with ugly women. That way I can consentrate on the work-out and split as soon as I am done. Anytime there are cute girls at the gym, my gym times goes from 1 hour to about 2 and a half for the obvious reasons.

Ditto, I pay 16 bucks a month but I had a membership for like 10 years. First 3 years I paid like 40-50 a month and there after I get yearly renewals for $192 a year. It’s a fixed rate every year so far. They have an option to raise it but haven’t done so far.
