“I have a feeling that the term “polpette” is not used in Italy ”
benson, maybe they use ‘meatball’. After all, we use words like pesto, parmesan, etc.
What’s up with this ‘peace’ sh*t? I got home late yesterday and didn’t read ‘Stoner’. Guess I have to go back.
Bloomberg is the greatest mayor ever in my lifetime. Guilani was a jerk. I think Bloomberg is being characterized unfairly by being called ‘Manhattan-centric’. He tries mightily to reach out to the other boros, imo.
I’d love to rip down those damn fences Guilani put up. Especially the ones by the Manhattan Bridge. What an ass. Bloomberg tries to make the city more pedestrian and people-friendly, and bike friendly. Guilani built fences to pen in pedestrians and give the city back to the out-of-towners in cars. Wonderful.
I look forward to congestion pricing, hopefully it will be back. Plenty of ways to get around Manhattan without driving.
“So apparently you’re one of those retards who walks around saying “Snitches get stitches.”
Well, I’m not a “retard,” but it sounds like you’d certainly qualify. I’ve never said anything like “Snitches get stitches.” That’s the corniest, dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. In fact, I’ve lived in Brooklyn my whole life and I have NEVER heard anyone utter that phrase. Sounds like something you read on MSNBC.com.
Let’s me make this clear. I come from a family with several members in law enforcement. Although I would never go out of my way to set someone up (like this jerk who makes $$ outting cigarette tax cheats), I would have no problem helping police to solve a crime, if I happened to have some information that would help. Selling bootleg cigarettes is illegal, to be sure, but it’s not on my list of serious crimes, sorry. To me, there’s a difference. I think you friend is a slimy little weasel, OK? And I will be sure to out him to my bodega guy (who is a pal of mine) if I even SUSPECTED he and I were in my corner store at the same time. You moronic jerk.
“JPM announced how much they have set aside for bonuses through the first nine months. I’m feeling more certain about my prediction that brownstone prices bottom by the end of the year.
Goldman and MS numbers out in a few days.”
Nice to know that housing in NYC will be affordable for SOMEONE
the voting issue seems so circular. people don’t want to vote because of whatever reason. but with such low voter turnout, you’d think that people could drive change via increased participation rates. hmmm.
I’ve been looking for the thread, I think back in January, when you, what and everyone else were going at it with the team bull/team bear stuff and I asked for everyone’s predictions for where we would be within a year. I think you had the dow breaking 11k at some point in or before Jan. 2010. I think what had it around 6k, but i’m not sure. I don’t remember the case-schiller predictions. I may be wrong, but I think it was a Jan. 09 thread, or maybe Nov. or Dec. ’08, but I don’t recall whether it was an OT, HOTD, 6 month later, or one of what’s nuclear forum posts. Maybe biff can find it, or maybe a PLUSA earmarked it somehow for revisiting. Would be interesting to look at as we get closer.

I was waiting for Dave’s reply, ROFL
Ummm, not really, Biff. Sometimes it is better to receive than to give. In fact, just last night, oh, never mind.
