jennifer lopez was asked why she named her debut album “on the six” and she replied that she was only riding the 6 train as a youngster for dance and singing lessons and later on for auditions and stuff. she was on the other end of the six though, in the bronx. benson = j.lo
Someone told me the criterion for “knee” was whether the kid could walk under the old wooden turnstile w/o having to bend over.

Alright “oldtimers”, who remembers the following warning on the subways?
“Little enough to ride for free, little enough to ride your knee”.
For you youngems: this was an admonition to parents that if your child was little enough to get in for free (I forgot the cut-off age), they should sit on your knee,not hog up a seat.
I say that they should bring this policy back!

After mandatory login’s my buddies and I used to place bets (yes, for $). We had a field of categories.
– Which Thread would get hijacked and go off topic first.
– Who would make the first off color comment and in what thread
– Who would throw out a racist comment
Can’t think of the others. We stopped doing this either Jan. or Feb. of this year.
There have been some great threads over the years. And some even greater comments from posters.
