  1. ok, so from what I am hearing,
many here are democrats dissatisfied with their local democratic leadership,
    Patterson
    Silver
    Rangel
    etc.

    does this tell you something?

maybe we need some change in NY?

either way, politicians are slimy. we need more accountabilty.

  2. the problem with trying to pinpoint the causes of climate change is that the earth is not a static environment. over the past 100,000 years we had a major ice age, continental shift, etc. The world is constantly changing, tectonic plates moving, changes in grantiational forces, the sun going through its own life cycle, etc. Man’s effect on the earth compounds these thing. I don’t know if big business is as bad as many of the other things though. A lot of damage is caused by dams, or filling in marshes, or replacing shoreline beaches (with trucked in sand, wtf is up with that ish?). it goes back to the issue of personal responsibility. it’s easier to blame big business for environmental destruction but in reality it’s a lot more complex than that. if we torched every single factory on earth, the climate would continue to change a lot faster and in a more meaningful way than people think it would.

  3. 11217,

lol, that UN “report” is based on the IPCC report. that same organization which willfully discounted contradictory scientific evidence including large samplings of historical heating and cooling data, and tectonic subsidence information from their coastal samples of water level rise.

what do you think I’m talking about.

Besides, do you seriously give the UN credence in anything they say at this point?
that is, after hearing their reception to Ahmedinajaad, who denies the Holocaust occurred?
who has Libya on is Security Council?lol

  4. bxgrl,

the president usually gets the blame for attacks occurring under his watch. after 9/11 attacks, which the 9/11 commission basically attributed to a lack of communication between the FBI and CIA, occurred during a time when Bush was still in the process of setting up foreign policy and goals.
This is why I bring up the Sandy Burger incident. What is speculated, is that he basically stole his personal notes, disclosing the level of threat being ascribed to Bin Laden and how this was communicated to the Clinton Administration. The rest is history.
what we do know, is that the Bush administration stopped several known and credible threats to our nation during this time period.
He also gave more to the impoverished than any other president in history. look it up.
He also expanded the Medicare benefit to include drugs, the largest entitlement expansion since LBJ. that should be lauded by the left.
