11217,
you can’t get away so easily, to say those that don’t agree with your contention are the uneducated is exactly what is wrong here.
you owe it to yourself to look at both sides, before you make these sweeping statements.
Look up the opposing views on this climate debate, look at all the forces involved and the consequences.
no one is saying we can’t do better for the environment, but we have to allocate resources responsibly and intelligently. not just because Gore said so and Sean Penn agrees.
bxgrl,
no doubt, the men and women on the ground. on the front lines of the FBI, CIA and NYPD are to be given credit for these successes. but the mandates come from above. from the Attorney Generals and Justice Departments who are put in place by the President.
Look at this new Attorney General who wants to go after CIA and FBI individuals in order to blame them for policies from above. this is dispicable.
cg,
you have it right. climate prediction is a chaotic science, in which the variables are too complex to predict. like economics.
we can’t predict the weather with any certainty beyond 7 days, and yet we are suddenly asked to believe without a doubt that we are doomed to swim with the fishes.
and pay taxes to mitigate this prediction.
yeah, right.
a basic understanding of earth sciences reveals that the earth like a living organism responds to variables in different ways. If a person lives in a low oxygen environment like Denver, they acclimate by increasing red blood cells.
from an historical perspective, the presence of oxygen in the atmosphere was a toxic addition to the gaseous make-up of the ecosystem. yet life prospered despite the poisonous gas being produced by plant life , namely oxygen.
Legion- not for nothing but the FBI, CIA and secret service (and NYPD0 were responsible for stopping attacks. giving Bush credit for that is like giving Giuliani credit for “saving” us after 9-11.
I would like to see the stats on how much he gave to the impoverished because it seems like he helped create more of the impoverished with his administration.
Your last comment was very funny- i guess you think us left of center types are all on drugs 😉
Sorry, but I honestly had no idea that educated people were still trying to refute the causes of climate change. From everything I’ve read, heard, believe, etc it is most certainly becoming more of a problem due to humans.
I truly thought that the people saying this is a natural progression are the same people who follow Sarah Palin’s every move. (i.e. the not very educated portion of our population)
Ah well. In any event, something needs to be done to clean up this planet.
Anyone been watching the Ken Burns series about National Parks on PBS this week??

uh, youre gay. why do you care about global warming!?

rob,
yes, in fact, I used to be a Democrat. Until I started reading the posts here. Then I started doing research.
“as id have to care about the country and the world one way or another, and since i dont, it’s totally moot.”
And this is the person you all defend to the grave.
Don’t.
Get.
It.
