Benson,
I agree with the main point of your rant wrt Federal regulation and the difficulty of getting things done.
I am more skeptical about the efficacy of wind power given its higher cost and lower reliability relative to other sources. Do you think costs will come down much, or is it still going to require subsidies to compete?
I feel your pain.
The only thing these folks in Washington are waiting for is how to distribute the federal dollars used for these projects through their Wall street cronies with Bond issues.
This ongoing hoax is becoming more evident day by day.
Look at the Cap and Trade bullshit. The wall street firms like Goldman Sachs are always looking at their angle in these projects because ultimately all the monies will have to be sifted through their companies first. Carbon credits is the next bubble that Wall Street is lining up. Mark my words.
And let me get controversial here, the global warming issue is by no means resolved. I have read that there are many climatologists and metereological specialists who are arguing the opposite.
some of their main points;
-if the ice caps are melting, water levels along the equator would rise and slow down the rotation of the planet.
hasn’t happened. and they have instruments that can detect this.
-Earth’s temperature is most influenced by cosmic radiation and the solar wind, not green house gases. That is, when the solar wind wanes, cosmic radiation ionizes the atmospheric gasses and traps heat. This is dependent on where our little solar system is in the Milky Way galaxy during any given period in time.
– objective review of shorelines where water levels are said to be rising by the IOCC, have been proven to be areas of tectonic subsidence (where the earth’s crust is diving under another plate, slowly). In other words, it’s not the water rising but the earth sinking.
there is alot more, people really need to read up on it.
anyway, I really think that windmills are needed, as well as geothermic, solar, tidal and of course nuclear. 3 mile island was a man made problem that derailed nuclear for an entire generation. we really need to re-visit the idea. proper use of nuclear is the true answer to our energy independence.
Great rant, benson. And I am completely agreeing with you- how much more stupid can we get before we figure out that we cannot keep going on like this without clean energy? This is one of those few instances where I will say, re historic areas, screw them because if this keep up they won’t exist anymore either. I happen to find the windmills very beautiful- I know some don’t but ;more importantly, the energy they provide mus become top priority.
Benson, your frustration is certainly understandable. I would be ranting too. It’s unfortunate that people can’t see beyond their own self interest, and the their pinheaded need to make things so much more complicated, costly, and self serving than is necessary.

“Tall and heavy, spoke with a drawl and wore a cheap suit.”
Re-Writer, not only is benson picking on the cheap suit, he’s also mentioning the accent!
Y’all come back now, heahhh?
I’m generally in agreement with antidope’s view of real estate if i remember correctly. Not sure.
CGAR, we see Jude Law around here quite a lot as he’s a big supporter of a charity that we give some office space to.
He’s a very nice man.
DIBS, unlike you, I found myself a good sparring partner – antidope. He is only one I find is looking and is willing to spar with me.

“stereotypical sourthern highway patrol man. Tall and heavy, spoke with a drawl and wore a cheap suit”
Watch it Benson, Southerners will find this offensive and go on a tirade.
😉
