  1. No, not soured! We were by the sandy beach at Lake Welch. I’ve been there once before. Our tent is too large for a platform though, so were were on the grass. $21 per night. We hiked up a spot called Black Rock near little long pond, east of lake Kanawauke. Great view, turkey vultures, acorns and chipmunks. kids loved it. And they like the owls screeching at night and the woodpeckers drilling in the monring. We also parked a campground on a peninsula on lake Tiorati called Cedar Pond campsite which looks great – but I can’t find it on the interwebs anywhere.
    Thanks for the hike tips.

  2. okay serious question (clearly im not going to go to a random vet and walk out without paying..).. my dog has the same problem as last time. his eyes are basically glued shut, and the inner eyelids that dogs have is all weird on both eyes, he can barely open his eyes. the last time i went they basically just gave me antibiotics and ruled out everything else.. can i go back to that vet and just request more antibiotics without taking him in? if i take him in they will just do the same looking in his eyes and charging 200 bux or whatever they charged last time..? should i wait this out? last time he had the problem for about a week.. 🙁

  3. I have to say – very cool idea having the standing room only lounges at the new Cowboys stadium.

The new giants stadium should have a large screen outdoors for all the tailgaters.

  4. DIBS, the stadiums (boyz vs giants) is due to Union vs Non-Union cost (of course some is land cost). both stadiums will cost around the same but that dallas stadium is freaking nice vs. giants’ stadium will just be new & nice. I wonder if we can fill a 100k headcount stadium here in NY/NJ

  5. Bad news about the damp firewood, ditto. I’m a big fan of Harriman, as I grew up near there. Hope you aren’t soured on the park. Were you on a platform at Lake Welch or in a quieter, woodsier setting? Two great hikes for kids involve “Cascade of Slid” near the SW end of the park, and “Lemon Squeezer” which is more NW. Did you do either of those?
