Haha pete – i’m only 25 – but in my 7 years in NYC i remember:
my studio on the LES that rented for 900 – now market is double
my one bedroom in chinatown for 1,250 – probably goes for 2,000 now
friends in college living in “prime greenpoint” 1 bedrooms for 700 bucks or williamsburg one bedrooms off bedford for 1200
antidope, if you want in on my bet with Mr Joist, I’m open to extending it to you too. Bet is a 3 story or higher flr house (that is not gut-renov fixer) can NOT be had in Park slope (9th st & northward boundary-wise) during the next 10 yrs.
