  1. snappy, a mandoline is a great thing, and I have one, but there’s set up and breakdown afterwards. You may or may not need new knives, but the trick is keeping them super-sharp.

  2. “How small does a mandoline slice things? And is it labor intensive?”

It depends on the blade that you put in. And this can be a pill, depending on the model that you buy. The good ones are a little pricey. There is labor involved, and unless you buy a good one, a knife is usually easier. I’d save my money and buy a GOOD knife, much more versatile and useful!

  3. Yeah, I just looked at a mandolin on Williams Sonoma site and it seems like just cutting the damned things would be less labor intensive than that.

  4. “by the way, if it was a war for oil, where’s the oil now?”

Yeah Legion, I have to agree with you on that one.. pretty funny… the left can be as wacky as the right sometimes.

Oil was $30/bbl going in, closed today @$71.33, may have stayed at $120 if it wasn’t for the economic collapse.

  5. I dunno Bodhi – i can say for sure I don’t like Boston, Philly or LA. San Fran was nice from what little I saw of it back in the day. I’ve been to alot of cities, but back when I was younger so I feel I more than likely didn’t experience all there was to do.

Vague at best, yeah i know. I think the only way to decide is just start hopping on some airplanes and going places and try to find a place where i say “yeah, i could live here”

  6. snappy – if yr going for ultimate lazy factor, a mandolin is prob more labor intensive and prob harder to clean up that than thing CG ups listed.

  7. CG, I had the pecan pie sundae Saturday night and it was YUM! Next time that’s all I’m going to order.
And DH, Biff, Buttermilk Channel serves Pork Slap.
