  1. Biff–my advice is to stay away from all those men’s cologne’s with designer labels. Way too mass market.

I love the fragrance of vetiver on men. Guerlain makes a nice one, and so does Jo Malone.

Also, check out the line colognes by the Farmacia Santa Maria Novello. They have a shop down in Lafayette Street near the Puck Building. I used to buy it at the flagship pharmacy in Florence. Dry, subtle, yummy.

My favorite perfumier, Annick Goutal, also makes some fragrances for men. Her line is at Bergdorf’s, and also at Barney’s.

  2. I like most Vetiver soaps and colognes.

Dave, my dad still uses sandalwood shave soap. I used to love sitting in the bathroom watching him foam up the soap with his brush and swoosh it all over his face before shaving. I love the smell but it’s reminds me too much of him to be sexy on a guy.

Snappy, so many guys in my H.,S. wore Drakar that I think if you scratch and sniff the walls you can still smell it. Vomitacious.
