Most modern fragrances have a chemical base and a “fixer” to make it last longer. Major yuck factor for me. I can’t stand most of the commercial scents.
If you want to avoid that roach killer effect, stick with old school perfumes from Guerlain and Chanel, or with Annick Goutal, Santa Maria Novello, Jo Malone and Penhaligon.
Penhaligon is mostly unisex scents. An old British company. Very subtle and classy
Dave, I’ve smelled that on folks. It’s gross. I’ve totally been out some places where I’m suddenly like, “does anyone else smell Raid?” and it turns out to be some woman’s perfume.
“You use L’Evian skin cream. And sometimes you wear L’Air du Temps; but not today.”

Dave YES!! I’ve never had the nerve to ask them what it was though. It burns your nostrils.

I don’t know that I’ve ever smelled Narcisse.

I wear:
Marc Jacob’s Daisy
Allure by Chanel
Stella by Stella McCartney
Per Una- got it in England, no idea where, but people seem to like it on me.
Snappy – nah, they don’t smell so good with cologne.
Snappy, I think Narcisse is the worst ever. I become a snapping, rabid dog when someone walks past me wearing that.
I used to like Lothantique “Green Tea”, but now I can’t find it anywhere.
Sometimes otherwise use CKOne.
I like the light crisp ones.
How did we get on THIS topic?!
