Cobble, CGar-dog has never bitten anyone. She’s a real people person and loves everyone. That said, sincere apologies if I woke you, Chad, Chet and BH when I got home last night. (And I’ve added Arkady’s manual request to this weekend’s To Do list – Item 7 by my count.)
Although Roosevelt Island is located directly under the Queensboro Bridge, it is not directly accessible from the bridge itself. A trolley connected passengers from Queens and Manhattan to a stop in the middle of the bridge, where passengers could take an elevator down to the island. The trolley operated from the bridge’s opening until April 7, 1957.

And why not, dave?! I’ll have you know I used to do a lot of backpacking and camping in the White Mountains. Of course now I’d probably have trouble hiking out of the parking lot . . .
DH, Thanks for letting us explore hipsterville bar scene with you!
Benson, parents go to Princess as well cause they like the older crowd. I prefer Norwegian (not like I have anything to compare to since I’ve been on a cruise once in my life) I bet obnoxo would prefer to be on the same boat as me, literally.
Etson, did you end up doing the Mansion tour and the boat ride on the harbor?
A belated thanks to M4L for driving me back to JB’s place, where I provided lots of amusement.
CGAr, can you fit CGAR-dog AND a penguin in that tent? ; )
“CGar-dog might bite me!!”

At that time, this trolley/elevator combination was the only way to get to this place.
