dave–I translated the signs in the Sunset Park thread. It makes me nostalgic for Hong Kong! I march in a lot of demonstrations against destruction of traditional neighborhoods by the government colluding with rapacious tycoons!
The signs are in simplified Chinese, so not Hong Kong Cantonese.
Thanks to the pic, now I know that “Sunset Park” is called “Yat Lohk Gung Yuen”.
Stop bullying poor hipsters from Ohio! You want to really man-up?”
haha benson – in our defense i think only offended one group of people out of the 30 people we spoke to. I may make poor decisions, but i’m not stupid!! you’ll never see me messing with people at a VFW bar!
Alright folks, I’m bringing back my Friday NYC trivia quiz. Here goes…
The last trolley line in NYC was terminated in 1955. There was a reason that this trolley line was the last to go, as it had a unique stop on it. At this stop, one got off the trolley car, and then took an elevator to the actual destination. At that time, this trolley/elevator combination was the only way to get to this place. The trolley line was kept until an alternate mode of transportation could be developed.
Question: where was this trolley stop, and what mode of transportation replaced it?
WonTon, when I lived in Hong Kong, I lived appropriately in Queen’s garden…Yue Geng Fa Yuen
Benson…Ebbet’s Field???

“Loo lines were unexpectedly short.”

Thanks, Dave. I didn’t know that about Bill. (I know I am late to this, but Millad did a great job on your facade.)
