Just wanted to say thanks so much to Montrose for the Crown Heights walking tour yesterday! We looked at an incredible variety of buildings & learnt a bunch. Then went off to Tavern on Nostrand for food & drinks (of course..).

This weekend, while on line in a convenience store, I came to realize that the price of a Sunday NYT is now a whopping $5. Are they kidding or what? Are they trying to hasten their decline?
Of course, this is the same paper that will rail against price-gouging by other industries. What a joke. I haven’t purchased a NYT in perhaps 7 years, and shed not a tear for them.
DIBS – i make focaccia. was the dough really sticky? sometimes that happens to me, then i can’t get it properly evenly spread out onto the sheet and it doesn’t rise the second time properly. also, since it’s only yeast, flour, salt and oil, the prime suspect would be yeast. Was the water the right temp?
Dibs – Do you think Snappy has enough cuff links for all of us to borrow?
Anyone hear from her over the weekend? How’s she doing? And the new baby?

+1. BIG Thank you Montrose!
“isnt it a firehazard to store flour in your basement?”
no that’s grain dust from silos.
Who eats challah, Arkady? The closest thing I might come to that is a ham sandwich on Jewish rye (always with caraway seeds).
DIBS, you’re partially correct. can store it at my crown heights place but no storage at my current residence.
hey, will email you shortly to ask you something
