I have thought about it – as you know I was a history major also and though about continuing with academic work for quite a while. How big of an issue is discipline wrt teaching? I think I would be good with older kids.
Etson – if you have some ideas of other fields of interest, try attending a networking meetup / party. With so many people unemployed, they seem to have a meetup for everything. Best place to start is probably speaking with people in the same field. If you want to share fields of interest, I’m sure people on the board can help you get started.

Biffy, funny one. I am surprised you weren’t mugged in my neighborhood in your monkey suit BTW. Let’s hope you can survive Greenwood Heights (really known as Sunset Park to most people who were here 10 years ago – Now waiting to duck while Snappy is throwing goodie bags my way for that comment).
Dave, as Arkady mentioned, Saraghina was featured in the Times which I thought was cool. I didn’t find the pizza similar to Luzzo’s though.
Etson, I thought about that over and over. I decided to switch industries 3 years ago and couldn’t be more happier. I would still love to own a business of my own or do something on the side considering my “full-time” workweek is like 25 hours. You coming to Ellis by any chance? or we talk about it on Sunday if the walking tour is happening.

I would be up for Cobble’s bar idea from a few months ago but would end up drinking all the profits!
