  1. ENY, in the book I referenced above, there is a walking tour of East New York and Canarsie Pier. Two acquaintances of mine, lifelong Brooklynites, told me that an Asshat like me (meaning a white guy with a backpack and tour book) should probably not be walking through East New York by myself. One of the two acquaintances has a friend who is a cop and works around there.

Would you agree? In a sense, it makes me want to do it even more now as I don’t like the thought of being in fear: it makes me feel like a tourist that comes to New York and is worried about walking around Central Park in broad daylight on a Sunday. Is what these people saying overblown?

  2. 6, next get together, we’ll talk. We used to go over there to eat once in a while, but for some reason, not too many people I knew ended up in Calhoun. Most were in Branford, which had to be the prettiest college, along with JE.

  3. “think the thing to remember about What is that he hates MM because she is everything he could never hope to be- smart, talented, well-liked, accomplished, involved in helping her community and educated. (Yale on a scholarship- that means serious brains- another What lack.)”

“Then why America is in bad shape Bxgrl?”

Not sure I understand the logic of the argument that, because montrose went to Yale, she is not only stupid but caused the financial crisis. But give me time, maybe it will come to me. Meanwhile, fess up, MM, it’s all your fault, apparently.

  4. “> Montrose’s Green Man post reminds me of the song ‘River Man’ by Nick Drake

Get outta my brain, etson. I had the exact same thought. ”

I was thinking the movie Swamp Thing 🙂
