the market turns and the what is back, i love it… Hate to say it but i predicted this would happen in my 2009 predictions. I wrote that we would start turning down once we hit the new year. Well its here and we started the turn down on the 3rd…
Thanks for all the comments folks. I should add that another reason I don’t want to leave this site is that I would miss the “e-friends” I’ve made, and I hope to meet you in person at the next party.
“This is a turnaround from a couple of months ago, when Citi CEO Vikram Pandit said he “loved” Smith Barney’s business and saw no reason to break up the bank. But Citi has since taken $45 billion in taxpayer cash and secured a $249 billion taxpayer guarantee for lousy assets on its balance sheet. The bank is due to report fourth-quarter results next week, and the latest losses could total $10 billion, so Mr. Pandit no longer has the luxury of indulging Citi’s old ambitions if he wants to keep his job.”
Now can we acknowledge a collapse of the Mutant Asset Bubble??!!
Benson, we may not agree on a lot of points, but I, for one, am glad you are around to argue with. Preaching to the choir has its perks, but being able to spell out one’s position and opinions is much more interesting when someone intelligent is opposing you. You rarely make it personal, and I enjoy some good verbal fencing on issues of the day.
I make it my mission to bring you over from the Dark Side, my friend. Soon you will be bathed in Light and Truth.
I just read the ‘binge drinking’ thread. I don’t know why I’m surprised, but it was shocking to see that thread devolve into a racial argument. I tend to ride a line as a black woman who experiences racism quite often – I don’t understand why race always has to be an issue, but at the same time I know why it’s always an issue. Benson, I am glad to see that you have not allowed folks to chase you off. I appreciate reading your comments on a variety of subjects. You are one of few thoughtful posters who contribute greatly to this site. I’ll be looking forward to further comments from you.
I did vote for change though. I don’t frequent all those other left wing pseudo hipster blogs. I probably should though for the comic relief. There are some pretty pathetic people on them.
DIBS, ny blogs dont allow republicans, youre banished. just ask anyone on curbed, gothamist, gawker, etc. youre lucky you switched, rather than be a log cabin repub, your life has been spared. its for that very reason (not only that) that i switched from democrat this year.
What…we’ve missed you the past couple of days. Did you have a few closings to go to???
