Hey everyone.
Design star. Love it. Both the astro turf rug and the harlequin floor people really bit it. I didn’t feel bad for those girls. They didn’t send the money wisely, They didn’t arm themselves with the proper tools, the floor with the too tiny white blob rug was a disaster. Horrible.
I loved the astro turf guy though when he was being criticized. He was aghast that they didn’t “get” his craptastic vision.
I’m also not loving the older lay on the living room team. She was very rude to pink geese guy. She’s going to have to work hard to get me back.
Bxgirl, absolutely! That astroturf room was a floor to ceiling disaster. Ok…I did like the random letters on the wall, but that was it. It was hard to tell where they spent their money besides that hideous astroturf. The other women should have gotten a pass because at least their design was nice and cohesive…they just didn’t get to finish it. I personally think unfinished and glam is better than done and ugly!
the mmenonic devices are actually harder to remember than the streets themselves. :-/ come on people!! simple words, preferably dirty. no historical characters and people i’ve never heard of before lol
bxgrl – exactly! the wife was just sooo pleased with herself when they received an offer at 515K and she was sorta doing the “take that” speech to Sabrina.
Is Design Star the one with the blonde lady as the host/designer?
Wasn’t there another show with an older guy who did the same thing with couples? It was really interesting to see how he got them to agree- and some of the couples looked ready to divorce if they didn’t get their way.
Anyone watch Showdown before the designstar premier?
M4L, when I lived in Bed Stuy in the 80’s and 90’s, any drug or street crime in any part of Brooklyn was reported to have been in Bed Stuy, including crimes in Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, Brownsville, East New York and Bushwick. This was before anyone in the media had even heard of Crown Heights, so crimes here were in Bed Stuy, too.
Now that BS is “hot” and a new real estate mecca, all crime has now centered in Crown Heights, which, since the riots of 1990’s is now the official crime capital of Brownstone Brooklyn. We got the “credit” for the police killings that took place in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, as well as anything that takes place in Prospect Hts, PLG, and Flatbush. Someday,as our property values rise, it will move on, probably to East New York.
It’s really frustrating, as it would only take reporters a little bit of research to find out what neighborhood something takes place in. Perhaps if they were here more often, covering the good stuff that takes place here, they’d know where they were.
I did not know that. I went to the gathering on Atlantic Ave early this year. I missed the recent gathering on Myrtle because I got a new project at around 6 pm that day and had to pull an all-nighter at work.

Dirty. Okay. I’m on it.

Well that rules out 99% of the reporters.
