Oh, wait…Dave, you were talking about ‘liking’ Vern as in you’re warm for his form, not necessarily that you like his designs! Silly me!
I like Vern’s designs…though I liked his work more on Trading Spaces than what he does now on Deserving Design. I’m super glad they replaced those other two judges. I absolutely adore Candice Olsen. Genevieve I kinda like, but not really love. While she’s not on Vern and Candice’s level, I still think she’s more qualified to judge this than those last two ladies they had.

winthopst- i like India Hicks but agree for the most part. Jonathan Adler is derivative- although i like his stuff, as someone else pointed out on the Adler thread, Peter Voulkos he ain’t.
So if they’re overrated who then is at the top of your list?
Would it surprise anyone if I said I liked Vern Yip? He has put on a little weight lately though.
Frankly they never give enough camera time to all the hot latin guys doing the manual labor in the yard scenes.
snappy- unfortunately they usually keep the most obnoxious guys till the end because viewers seem to love hating them. So people with real talent get knocked of so they can keep the drama queens.
thl – i don’t have tv so i haven’t had a chance to watch that design show. but knowing their work in print and in person – i think kelly wearstler, india hicks and jonathan adler have to be 3 of the most overrated people out there. the work is highly lacking in person. they’re telegenic though so that helps them rise to the top.
