CVSGOTD (CVS Gripe of the Day):
Went in yesterday for a couple items. No line, surprisingly. Cashier doesn’t take too long to acknowledge my existence. All going relatively well and looks like I’ll get out of there without a problem. And then…
DAMN, cashier’s friend appears. I assume it was another employee, but the friend wasn’t appearing to be doing much other than looking for someone to talk to. They start gabbing while the cashier is holding my receipt in her hand. The transaction is over but the receipt is too far away from me to just grab it and leave. It is being held in mid-air outside of my reach as they discuss when their next breaks are and how late they have to stay at work. Finally, I just interrupt and politely ask for the receipt and am given it a minute or so later.
I know, I know. There are far worse problems in the world to deal with and if this was the worst part of my day I’m very lucky. Maybe I even enjoy these trips, like some drugstore masochist.
