Show must have had major psychological issues. He was a real competitor who took the game personally (in the worst way – he sat down on the mound after giving up Pete Rose’s record-breaking hit).
Hawkins pitched the ugliest no-hitter of all time as a Yankee, losing 4-0. He remains the only Padres pitcher ever credited with a World Series win.
ENY, when are you coming to one of our PLUSA gatherings?
DH, Knicks have the biggest FLOP but it’s DARKO not Hill. before the injuries, Hill was having a decent career. It would interest to see if Darko turns out to be decent in this system
Len Dykstra is a deadbeat. He recently operated a sports magazine that stiffed a BUNCH of writers and artists. He even stiffed some family members! Total lowlife.
Joe, that was so funny I forgot to laugh. The real question is, who’s helping you to read these posts?
On the other hand, six you are bonafide! Champ Summers!! Been a long time since I heard that name! One of the great baseball names of all time.
And I remember when Alan Wiggins died (also played of the Orioles). Very sad. I remember thinking what a jerk Eric Show (rhymes with “ow”) was because of his John Birch membership.
if anyone is to complain about a NY team spending tons to try to win but dont win – you can choose between Knicks and Rangers. BTW, both owned by same owner – Dolan. Dolan hasn’t seem the return (playoffs, championships,… wise) on his spending but I admire the man’s willingness to keep spending, spending,…..
HA! there’s more. turns out it was from a NY TIMES article.

“Despite the press, survival here isn’t so hard. Businesses like the Wheelhouse and the Hub have already shown how well Detroit can work as a new business hothouse. With the legendarily affordable real estate and without needing to pay for car payments, gas or insurance, bicyclists could rebuild Detroit into a model of a two-wheeled economy. They could pass laws promoting bikes over cars and designate entire avenues motor-free zones, which, given the state of many of them now, wouldn’t be so much of a stretch.” <
denton…AA numbers much better than expected…-$0.26 vs. estimate 0f -$0.38

Also played for the Yanks:
Bobby Brown
Ed Whitson
Andy Hawkins
Goose Gossage
Ugh m4l – don’t get me started on the Dolans
didn’t the knicks just sign Grant Hill to a one year deal? Grant F*ckin Hill!! One of the biggest flops in NBA history!!
Speaking of the Mets & the Phillies, Lenny Dykstra just filed for bankruptcy!!!!!
