I agree with dh…joe’s just making a pretty standard point. albeit in our NYC-bubble of thinking where we know more than anyone else, it’s hard for some people to listen to it.
Again, not saying it’s all the fault of illegals but it DOES play a factor. Absolutely.

Every day here is a new experience for me. I get get to prove Covert Race/Class Warfare and I don’t have to do anything and you want me to “Hang out” with at a Brownstoner get together?
Groups like Mecha and La Raza have promoted ideas od Aztlan which the Nazi’s tried to use to their advantage to convince Mexicans to stand up for the “Brown Race” and kill white americans in border areas during WWII. Could you imagine if a group of whites called itself “the Race” and applied for gov’t funding and got it! Calling white people names like Euro-trash, etc,. just continues to prove my point. I say SOME, particularly groups LEADING this Pro-Illegal Alien agenda are racist and you retort with Euro-trash, go back to your country,etc. It’s funny you think you’re being pro-Hispanic when you’re BEING MANIPULATED BY A BUNCH OF RICH WHITES WHO WANT CHEAP LABOR! A permanant brown underclass, quite an acheivement. So while the Republicrats run game on you I will fight for the rights of ALL AMERICANS regardless of race, the right to not compete with slave labor whether it’s here or in China.

Parents who do that are not doing the right thing. Rich kids need to develop a work ethic too. Isn’t it funny how conservatives are always telling ‘the poor’ that they need to develop a work ethic? So does Muffy, it appears.
My kid had to do production work at my biz on weekends since she was 11. That’s on your knees, manual labor, immigrant style work. She hated it. So I told her to go to college if she didn’t want to do it. Soon as she was 14, she had to work every summer, either something we got her or in the nabe.
And while she’s currently unemployed, she has a tremendous work ethic.
