WOG IS crazy to expect people would provide such detailed information solely to rent and apartment, but honestly if it makes him comfortable as a LL to ask for it – he has that right. Just like the prospective tenant has the right to say “Later, man.” Unfortunately, I suspect that has worked for him w/some people who just don’t know any better.
You know, the odd thing is, because i do rent from a friend, I really do understand and sympathize with homeowners too. I know tenants can be great or horrible. But these guys! I bet their favorite book is 1984.
Bxgirl, if anything, that is the perfect reason why your suggestion should be taken that the LL provide their financial info to the tenant lest they wind up on the street post-foreclosure!

I’m starting to think WOG and Jack are trolls who are enjoying being ridiculous. If they are in fact serious, then we can laugh at them because I can’t imagine any renter, particularly in this real estate climate, agreeing to part with all that personal and invasive info. Their apts will be empty forever and next thing you know we’ll be looking at their house as the next forclosure of the day on B’Stoner.

Mortgage applications and rental applications are apples and giraffes. No close comparison at all!
