  1. Agreed Dave. I knew (and said many times) when I bought my place….”How in the world could this small place ever be worth more than I’m paying for it” but I didn’t care. I loved it and continue to love it as my home (and it’s still cheaper than renting). It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for myself.

I think The What likes to *think* he was the first to tell us that our properties were overvalued, but I think the VAST majority here already knew that. Even knowing what I know now, I wouldn’t have rather waited to get my place at a 10 or 20% discount…the two years I’ve lived in my place have been some of the best years of my life because I finally have a real home in NYC…a place to escape some of the craziness of this great city. That is priceless to me.

It’s just another way he’s managed to draw attention to himself by making people think that he’s given us information we didn’t already know.

I’ve never found much interest in his posts whatsoever.

  2. quote:

i’m curious why so many people revere MJ. and i mean *revere*

    – he owned a monkey and named it bubbles
    – he bleached his skin
    – he married elvis’ daughter
    – he dangled a baybay off a balconey
    – he put a curse on david spielberg
    – he slept in an oxygen chamber
    – he wasnt the baby daddy of billie jean
    – i can go on and on and on

he was a freakshow extraordinaire. some of us aspire to his greatness. if you dont “get it” you dont “get it”. i wasnt a fan of his music really but i was a huge fan of his lifestyle.

  3. Rob,

Lest we forget, you’re white. At the end of the day no matter what influenced you in life or however hard to try to get away from it you are white.

It’s still not cool to hate even if it’s on white people.

    Don’t hate who you are.

  4. 11217, you’re right. I think most people knew their properties were becoming overvalued. I didn’t see a lot of people speculating in real estate because it was pretty obvious that it was becoming a bubble. In my case I saw that my Manhattan place could sell for more money that it was worth. I could have chose to rent but that’s not the lifestyle I wanted. Yes, its all about what you want in life, the prices of that, not so much.

Like MJ, you never know when you might be gone so live life like you want to.

  5. my issue with the beatles is that it was a foursome of white guys. seriously. there is nothing cheesier than all male whiteboy bands that all look alike. like 99 percent of the music coming out of brooklyn these days.
