Open Thread: Michael Jackson Edition

No one (not me at least) is disputing they were talented.

Lets do this. Let’s compile a list of the lets say top 50 most influential bands/musicians of all time and any time we discuss any other bands/musicians we will then compare them one by one to said list.

This way at least the Beatles fans won’t look near as obnoxious in their quest to discredit all others in the genre.

I wonder if benson likes the Beatles??

I would say the fact they are always mentioned and used as a benchmark in assessing other artists is a testament to their talent, influence and popularity. Nobody is comparing emerging musical talents to Kajagoogoo (with all due respect, DIBS).

I feel that the Beatles are used as the premier musical icon to compare all other musicians to and it’s simply wrong
