There is a new set of Beatles CDs being released in the fall, being re-mastered from the original tapes using the latest technology. Looking forward to it.
There have been millions of popular musicians to come out of America. How many of them can be named by virtually every living person? Michael Jackson was a musician and artist of supreme talent. The music he created with his brothers and on his own will be played for generations to come. He almost single-handedly created the music video form, and his innovations in that area are copied to this very day. He was a once in a lifetime artist, and nothing can ever change that.

Gem10 – They set the entertainment industry up for music videos, movies, massive concerts, etc. Even the early Stones wouldn’t’ve been as big an influence.
I give MJ his due- he was magic. On stage he was incandescent and he was a brilliant musician. It was painful to see how damaged and frail he was as a person. For all the fame and money, he must have been one of the most unhappy people on the planet.

“Let’s compile a list of the lets say top 50 most influential bands/musicians of all time”
I’m listing my band as #1, to hell with all of you. 🙂

Just out of curiosity (since I can’t keep up with everything on this site), why have people decided to ruin the restaurant reviews?
I always thought they were one of the more useful things on this site. I mean, I eat out more often than I shop for a new home.
Arkady brought them up and said “No MJ without them”
this would be a tough list as there are SOOOOO many genres
should we only mention people who would be WORLD famous, top selling, most recognized?
