  1. There have been millions of popular musicians to come out of America. How many of them can be named by virtually every living person? Michael Jackson was a musician and artist of supreme talent. The music he created with his brothers and on his own will be played for generations to come. He almost single-handedly created the music video form, and his innovations in that area are copied to this very day. He was a once in a lifetime artist, and nothing can ever change that.

  2. “Let’s compile a list of the lets say top 50 most influential bands/musicians of all time”

I’m listing my band as #1, to hell with all of you. 🙂

  3. Nope.

“cont’d MLK, Mandela, FDR, JFK – moon shot, Beatles (no MJ w/o them),…

Gem10 – They set the entertainment industry up for music videos, movies, massive concerts, etc. Even the early Stones wouldn’t’ve been as big an influence.

  4. Just out of curiosity (since I can’t keep up with everything on this site), why have people decided to ruin the restaurant reviews?

I always thought they were one of the more useful things on this site. I mean, I eat out more often than I shop for a new home.

  5. this would be a tough list as there are SOOOOO many genres
should we only mention people who would be WORLD famous, top selling, most recognized?

  6. I give MJ his due- he was magic. On stage he was incandescent and he was a brilliant musician. It was painful to see how damaged and frail he was as a person. For all the fame and money, he must have been one of the most unhappy people on the planet.
