We don’t have time to adequately take apart Benson’s tirade right now, but we find it funny that Benson and his new-found buddy, The What, can’t seem to get their stories straight: Benson accuses us of being anti-development and The What accuses us of being a cheerleader for the development boom. Which is it? Sometimes the truth is a little more nuanced than that. And, for the record, we were born and raised in New York and, yes, even got mugged a couple of times in the 70s, so you two can stop pulling your city cred crap. It’s getting very old. You don’t have to have grown up in the Bed Stuy or the Red Hook Houses to be a New Yorker. Heck, you don’t even have to have been born here. You are both blinded by your own burning self righteousness and, ironically given the humble origins you both love to brag about, sense of entitlement.
