kens, other than meeting friends for dim sum at those big restuarants along 8th ave, haven’t been to BK restaurants for lunch or dinner hence can’t give a recommendation (ie dim sum is not enough to give a rating).
if you are in Man Chinatown, go to Danny Ng’s on bowery (near canal st). It’s underneath the golden bridge restaurant.
only thing I order from dominos are those buffalo chicken nuggets thingie. they’re good. McD’s breakfast items are pretty competitive – love those biscuit sandwich
Anyone who lives in NYC and indulges in Dominos is either sadly misinformed, or just plain nuts. On the other hand, MacDonalds, consumed in sufficient quantities, is simply life-threatening. I’d imagine it’s actually worse – or at least as bad – than anything you can get at a “Chinese” restaurant (the delivery kind).
M4L – My bf used to own House of Chan in mid-town & he makes scratch fried rice. Also fried dumplings – no left-over anything. Egg drop soup is good if the soup is good – just swirl whites into it. His lobster sauce starts w/ lobster shells – similar to making a bisque.
THL – I agree, McD’s is a thing in itself that I sometimes crave but those mass-market pizzas have never hit any spot in my anatomy.

“Thingie” is the right word, M4L. You’re playing Russian Roulette with that…..er, stuff. But hey, you only go around once!
You guys are making me drool. I want to go to legit chinese restaurant.
Any recommendations for one in Brooklyn (I don’t mind going to BK chinatown if you have a recommendation there)?
I know a few were recommended in the city by DIBS and M4L but I would really like to support the local ones if I can.

On the fried rice subject, you can’t make decent fried rice without using leftover rice (or at least cold rice) – otherwise it clumps too much.
