  1. benson, I have a feeling you are correct. Even as I was cutting and pasting that from Wiki, in the back of my mind I also thought that the opening sequence was a shot of a drive over the Manhattan Bridge. Anybody know for sure?

  2. Spake? ugh. another word i hate! i’ve done shrooms before but always felt like they weren’t as trippy as synthetic acid. i guess a lot safer tho. ugh i got tricked btw into buy a bag of mushrooms in soho years ago. turns out they were nothing more than shitake (?) mushrooms from dean and deluca or something!

  3. “if you wanna trip do some shrooms.”

    When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

  4. Biff;

    I think there are some errors in your write-up regarding the Queensboro bridge, specifically concerning the “Taxi” series, as such:

    -in the opening sequence, the taxi is driven by Judd Hirsch, who was the star of the series, not Tony Danza. Tony Danza was not the star of Taxi, Hirsch was. Danza was in Taxi, but he was an unknown at the time. If my memory serves me correctly, Taxi was his breakthrough series on TV.

    -I think, but am not 100% sure, that the opening scene was of the taxi going across the Manhattan bridge, not the Queensboro. The reason I say this is that in the final scene of the opening sequence the camera pans to the nearby lower Manahattan skyline (World Trade Center and all. Such a shot would not be possible from the Queensboro.

    I agree with you that the Queensboro is worthy of a big salute. It is a beautiful bridge that does not get enough praise.

  5. i only had one bad trip in my life dipster. and that was when some random KID gave me a whole bunch of hits and i did not believe they were real. ugh. all i saw were female cockroaches talking me inside the walls in my apartment. they were singing and smoking cigs put would never ash, just let the cig burn in their hands as they sang. lol. it was only like my second day living in nyc and i really didnt know anyone. i was terrified!

    all other trips were nice and informative tho 🙂
