  1. dumb question but to nyc busses take metrocards? if i have an unlimited metrocard can i just use it on the bus or do i have to pay?

eta, and BRG thank you for that tidbit from the department of DUH

    *rob*

  2. I worked on a design show and the on-camera ‘handymen’ were hot!
They often took their shirts off while working; lifting lumber, sawing wood, hammering drywall.
DIBS, you would have been very happy with one, although he was straight, he was a sight. He wasn’t Latino, but sure looked it….prrrrrrrrrrr.

Having worked on a few TV shows, I can tell you ‘reality’ TV is not so reality. It’s all manipulated, enough said. It’s all in the editing. To get a 44 minute episode, they shoot for one week. You can deduce what they include in the final cut…the drama.

I just came back from a gorgeous house on Central Park, let me find the real estate link to it.

  3. What does everyone think about the BART shooting and the riots in Oakland? Surprised this is not getting more media play. It is getting coverage in the NY Times, but I’m surprised there in not more coverage on CNN. Not everyday that there are riots in America.

  4. Went to Buttermilk Channel last night. Recommend it; great little spot just down Court st from Frankie’s 457 (our favorite neighborhood spot that’s not in my neighborhood).

Solid, reasonably priced wine list buy the glass and bottle, 5 local brews on tap. nice atmosphere.

food was quite good. Split the cheese plate—good selection of cheeses with awesome local honey and these concord grapes that were pickled or something, super tasty. also came with popovers!

I had the winter pasta dish with sweet potatoes, black olives and rosemary butter and the wife to be had the buttermilk fried chicken w/ cheddar waffle & an amazing maple/molasses syrup.

We also split a endive and kale salad with soft-boiled eggs and anchovy dressing.

  5. Rob, embrace that big blue and white limo that is the B77 bus and take the ride out there! Yes, you COULD walk to Red Hook, but it’s a bit of a trek and in this weather, not advisable.

  6. LOVE Red Hook
ummmmm you would have to take the Bus Rob
I beleive the bus that runs along 9th street is your best bet into Red Hook – I might be wrong
well you could walk.. – but you have to get through the Projects and factories to make it to Van Brunt Street and the water….

  7. I watched it online last night and I’m almost ashamed to say I enjoyed it (guilty pleasure!) I even cried at one point, but I always cry when I hear people’s coming-out stories and struggles (reminds me of my own – AWFUL). I think I heard the black girl say she was 20. Anywho, they do seem to be trying to get back to their roots with real people. But I always have to question how real MTV thinks this can be when you *give* them jobs. I remember the first Real World when the folks went out and got a job on their own. Their sense of responsibility and maturity far outweighed any other season cast and they weren’t all about getting drunk and laid. That said, this season seems like it will be at least interesting due to a variety of lifestyles in the house. It seemed to me that the Metrosexual Mormon may be questioning his sexuality, but I suppose it’s too early to tell. And yes, I’ll be watching future episodes to find out!! Don’t Hate Me!!!
