  1. DH: “we were quite the motley crew” – Fortunately we weren’t the Motley Crue (again, apologies for lack of umlauts – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heavy_metal_umlaut).

    BRG: Jessi and I missed the shoes! Will you wear them again to the Clinton Hill gathering?

    Benson: L&B Spumoni Gardens would be great. I’ve only been there once, but would love to return. Do you ever go for roast beef sandwiches at John’s Deli on, I think, 86th and Stillwell?

    Are there any anonymous lurkers who want a date with Amzi? Come out of the woodwork, Brownstoner’s a great place to find a date 🙂

  2. “Benson, can you recommend a place where Guidos hang out?”

    Folks;

    In my new role of “New Yorkizing” recent arrivals, may I make a comment on this topic? NO ONE in NYC uses the term “Guidos”. Frankly, I NEVER (and I repeat NEVER) heard this term in my youth. Using the term “Guidos” is NYC is like calling soda “pop”,another non-existent term here.

    If you want to know the correct term, it is “cugine”, which derives from the Italian word “cugino”,which means “cousin”. It is pronounced “Coo – shzeene”. Guys are “cugines” and the women are “cuginettes”.

  3. Noki, you were missed. I mentioned to a couple of people that I had hoped you would show and how much fun you are. You definitely need to make it to the next one. Maybe randolph can watch the Nokelettes if you need a backup sitter.
