The Meatball Shop is showing off some fancy signage at 170 Bedford. The East Village Lower East Side offshoot was approved for a liquor license in February. The Observer tells of a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu company that signed a lease for a huge space at 42 Dobbin Street. Giant Greenpoint beer hall Spritzenhaus is now open, says Eater, they also tell us the Five Leaves offshoot Nights and Weekends will be open in three weeks. It’ll be located on Bedford at the Williamsburg/Greenpoint boundary.

Carroll Gardens
Gowanus Yacht Club is now open! Brokelyn posts a picture of the Yacht Club’s opening day sign, which reads: “Please Tell the Blogs.” Consider us told. PMFA laments another nail place on Smith Street. And close by in Boerum Hill, Rucola has officially opened. We gave you a sneak peak a few weeks ago, who’s stopped by?

Park Slope
HPS says that Ha Nio Vietnamese Kitchen is open in the Slope, while Bicycle Habitat will be opening on 5th Ave. and 10th later this month. Jackie’s 5th Amendment has reopened after a DOH scare. Finally for Park Slope news, FIPS wonders if Thistle Hill Tavern is expanding to open new restaurant. After reaching out to the owner of the in-construction storefront at 11th Street and 7th Avenue, they said, “Right now I cannot confirm or deny that rumor. But if it is true…it’s going to be totally different from THT.”

  1. As for Jackie’s 5th Amendment, I was wondering why they were shuttered. In all the years I lived nearby, they were only closed once, and that was for a few hours for Jackie’s funeral.

  2. Don’t know if this was reported already, but LeGrand Dakar, a senegalese restaurant on Grand Ave in CH has a sign posted that the premises have been seized by the landlord. I could be wrong, but I thought PACC was the landlord.
